Hyundai Motor Company Australia is recalling 2540 examples of the Tucson SUV due to a manufacturing issue that may cause an electrical connection to the heater core to overheat.
This may result in a fire.
This recall affects previous, TL-generation Tucson models that were produced between 2017 and 2018, and are equipped with the 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine.
“Due to a manufacturing issue, the connector to the heater core may overheat due to a faulty electrical connection,” said the company in its recall notice.
“This may cause excess heat in the connection. If this occurs it may result in a vehicle fire”
If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll be contacted by Hyundai Motor Company Australia and asked to contact an authorised Hyundai dealership to book in a free inspection and fix.
If you have any further questions you can call the Hyundai Customer Centre on 1800 186 306.
