Is this the coolest looking version of one of the most boring cars ever?

As part of a recent episode of the French-Canadian TV show Roulez au Suivant, a donated 2008 Hyundai Elantra has been restored with the help of Hyundai Canada then given away to a lucky viewer.

This Elantra was purchased by a delivery driver in 2011 with 30,000km on the clock, who then averaged 107,000km annually until it was sold to a Hyundai dealer in 2020. At that point the car was sold back to Hyundai Canada with more than one million kilometres on the odometer.

As part of the restoration, Hyundai provided Roulez au Suivant with over 100 new parts for the Elantra. These included a wide range of engine and mechanical components, though most of the original parts were retained.

A highlight of the restoration is the car has been resprayed with Performance Blue paint – Hyundai’s N division hero colour.

There are also a range of black front and rear bumper add-ons, plus side skirts with red accents.

Inside, the Elantra has been completely refurbished, including an odometer reset to zero as it stopped counting at 999,999km.

Providing him with his first car, 16-year-old Quebec local Éloïc Lachance was chosen as the winner of the refurbished 2008 Hyundai Elantra out of hundreds of applicants.
