Honda Australia has recalled two examples of the Civic, due to a fault which can result in a vehicle fire.

“The battery cell negative terminals within the lithium-ion battery module were manufactured with inadequate copper cladding and may fracture. If this occurs while the battery is energised it could lead to a vehicle fire,” the carmaker said in its recall notice.

“A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users, bystanders and/or damage to property.”
