GWM has trimmed the price of its Cannon Ute to firmly make it Australia’s most affordable 4×4 ute.
The Chinese carmaker has slashed up to $5000 off the drive-away asking price of its Cannon Ute, depending on the variant.
Existing discounts are being sweetened with the introduction of a $1000 factory bonus for all models besides the flagship XSR. ABN buyers can receive an additional $1500 discount.
The special pricing applies until September 30.
For private buyers the GWM Cannon Ute range now opens at $35,490 drive-away, or for ABN holders at $33,990 drive-away.
The Cannon Ute variants that received the full $5000 price cut include the Cannon-X and Cannon Vanta.

For 2024 GWM confirmed it has axed both the 4×2 versions of the Cannon Ute, as well as the Cannon-L CC 4×4.
“These two models have been discontinued due to low sales demand and complexity reduction,” said a spokesperson for GWM Australia.
There have been no other specification changes to the rest of the Cannon Ute range.
In the first half of 2024, GWM sold 4430 Cannon Utes in Australia. While that’s well off the tallies of the top-selling Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux and Isuzu D-Max, it outsold the LDV T60 (3399 sales) and SsangYong Musso (2027 sales).
