Australian-registered mental health charity Drive Against Depression has announced its first-ever Cars and Coffee collaboration with MG’s Five Dock dealership in Sydney, set to be held Sunday, 23 June.
The event is the latest in the organisation’s expansion into New South Wales, and will see the showcase the all-new MG 3 city car – and a charity raffle will give attendees the chance to drive the MG 3 Hybrid+ for a week.
Five Dock MG has committed both the proceeds of the raffle as well as a $5000 donation to the mental health charity, which uses regular automotive events and meets to build connections and judgment-free spaces to drive conversations about mental health and wellness through a shared passion for motoring.
The event will commence at 7:00am and finish at 11:00am, with a variety of “unique and interesting” vintage MG models expected to be in attendance. For more information and to pre-purchase raffle tickets, click here.
Sarah Davis, co-founder and managing director at Drive Against Depression, said: “We are delighted to partner with Five Dock MG, with the instrumental support of MG Motor Australia, to deliver this bespoke MG 3 Hybrid+ event.
“The camaraderie and social atmosphere of Drive Against Depression events align perfectly with the Cars and Coffee format, and we’re excited for a fun community morning at the Five Dock MG dealership.”
Five Dock MG dealer principal Ian Mason added: “Drive Against Depression and this event with Five Dock MG is about fostering a local community of like-minded enthusiasts who will inevitably support each other.
“We’re very community-focused, and are happy to be supporting Drive Against Depression’s mental health mission with a donation of $5000 plus all proceeds from our raffle.”
Drive Against Depression holds regular motoring events and is continuing to build a network of mental health practitioners to support the community, offering a non-judgemental and judgement-free opportunity for people to connect with others and feel comfortable to share their mental wellness journey.
In the past 12 months the organisation has expanded beyond its usual Melbourne operations across the eastern seaboard with events in Sydney and Brisbane, and more recently hosted its inaugural Adelaide event in April.
Various members of the CarExpert team are proud long-time supporters of Drive Against Depression and its events. James Wong (Production Editor) is a current DAD charity ambassador, with Founder Paul Maric a former ambassador for a number of years.
