Deals on wheels: GWM Ora now cheapest electric car in Australia

The battle for the most affordable electric vehicle (EV) in Australia rages on, with the GWM Ora now taking the title… at least temporarily.

GWM Australia is currently offering a $4000 discount on all model year 2023 Ora small electric hatchback variants that are ordered and delivered before March 31st.

This means the entry-level Ora Standard Range has reclaimed the title of the cheapest EV in Australia for a short period of time, after losing it to the MG 4 in mid-2023 and then later the BYD Dolphin.

The $4000 limited-time discount applies to the recommended retail prices of all MY23 GWM Ora variants.

That doesn’t necessarily mean a $4000 reduction in drive-away pricing, given on-road costs vary from state to state. However, in most states and territories the drive-away saving still works out to be approximately $4000.
