General Motors Specialty Vehicles (GMSV) is fitting the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray with extra safety kit in Australia for 2024, although it comes at a cost.
The 2024 Chevrolet Corvette line-up is set to arrive locally late this year and will feature forward collision alert and low-speed autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist and lane departure warning, and auto high-beam assist as standard.
It’s also picked up a new spoiler design, two new wheel options, and a trio of fresh colours – while the front boot is now soft-close, removing the need for owners to press down to have it latch.
Minor interior tweaks have brought about new graphics and animations on the infotainment display.
Pricing has been raised by $5000 across the range, according to GMSV, meaning the most affordable model (the 2LT Coupe) kicks off at $170,000 before on-road costs, while the 3LT Convertible has a $205,000 sticker before on-roads.
Based on industry pricing data, however, that price rise may be as high as $15,000. We’ve reached out to GMSV to clarify.
There’s also the new high-performance Corvette Z06 which is priced from $336,000 before on-roads.
Power on the core models comes from a naturally-aspirated 2LT 6.2-litre V8 engine making 369kW of power and 637Nm of torque. It’s mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, and the car is rear-wheel drive.
All prices exclude on-road costs.
