BMW's electric liftback has been treated to a price cut, courtesy of a new base model that sneaks in below the FBT threshold.
BMW has cut the price of entry to its i4 electric car range with the addition of a new eDrive35 model.
The 2024 i4 eDrive35 will hit Australian showrooms before the end of 2023, with a sticker price of $85,900 before on-road costs.
That means the i4 is now below the $89,332 fuel efficient vehicles cutoff for the Luxury Car Tax – and is eligible for the Fringe Benefits Tax exemption if you’re a fleet or novated lease buyer.
Under the skin, the i4 eDrive35 features a 67kWh lithium-ion battery pack good for a claimed 430km of range.
11kW AC and 180kW DC charging is standard. With 210kW of power and 400Nm of torque, the eDrive 35 hits 100km/h in six seconds from standstill.
More expensive i4 models feature a larger 84kWh battery pack, and more power from their electric motors.
