The facelifted Skoda Scala hatchback has been priced for Australia, and the local range has been rejigged.
The update follows a similar one given to the related Kamiq crossover, though the Scala is more of a niche player in Australia, only outselling the smaller Fabia and flagship Superb.
The range now opens with a more pared-back variant, the Scala Select, which starts from $32,490 drive-away, representing a $1100 saving on outgoing Scala Ambition’s $33,590 price tag.

The Skoda Scala Monte Carlo, replaces the Signature as the model’s flagship, and is now priced from $43,990 before on-road costs – up $1900 on the range-topper it succeeds.
Powering the range is a pair of carryover engines, while the Select wears smaller wheels than the Ambition it replaces, also missing out on a more advanced ‘Virtual Cockpit’ digital instrument cluster, a power tailgate, and adaptive cruise control, among others.
It does however gain a speed limiter, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, USB-C ports, and dual-zone climate control.
Skoda will be hoping to improve Scala sales with its updated model, which remains the least-popular small car among Australian buyers.
To the end of August, Skoda has delivered 262 Scalas in 2024. That compares to Toyota’s 17,722 Corollas, 11,217 Kia Ceratos and even 2088 Audi A1s across the same period.
