The 2025 Hyundai Tucson will arrive in Australian showrooms soon with freshened looks, newly available hybrid power and more equipment, but higher prices.

Having confirmed local specifications and details in March, Hyundai Australia has now locked in pricing for its updated Tucson, which gets more than a mere cosmetic update.

UPDATE, 19/06/2024 4:00pm – Hyundai Australia has confirmed additional details for the updated Tucson. We’ve updated this article and brought it forward.

Gone is the option of turbo-diesel power, with the two existing petrol engines joined by a new hybrid drivetrain, shared with the Kia Sportage and available in both front- and all-wheel drive.

The carryover 1.6-litre turbo four is also available now in both front- and all-wheel drive.

The Tucson has received a major interior overhaul which includes dual 12.3-inch screens – one for the digital instrument cluster, the other for the infotainment system – as well as a head-up display, a new climate control panel and a revised steering wheel.

There’s also a new front bumper and grille design, and LED headlights have become standard across the range. These had previously been reserved for the flagship Highlander, which has been replaced by the Premium.

Prices are up, with the entry-level Hyundai Tucson now starting from $39,100 before on-road costs, a $3450 increase compared to the equivalent pre-facelift model.

This $3450 price rise also applies to the least-expensive Tucson Elite (priced from $44,100 before on-road costs), while turbocharged, non-hybrid variants which carry over have gone up by $3950.

While the base 2.0-litre naturally aspirated engine is available only in base Tucson and mid-range Elite guise, the turbo-petrol and hybrid drivetrains are offered across all three grades.

The 2025 Hyundai Tucson is due in Australian showrooms imminently.
