GWM Australia has made a raft of minor specification changes to the Haval H6 GT SUV as it prepares to launch a new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant early next year.
The Haval H6 GT PHEV will join the H6 GT Ultra in the 2025 lineup. The base Lux was axed earlier this year.
Both the petrol and plug-in hybrid versions have been subjected to a minor update, picking up cosmetic and tech upgrades including a revised tail-light design, matte black GWM rear badging, and intelligent voice command for hands-free operation of the infotainment system.
Sapphire Blue has also been removed from the exterior paint selection.
These changes apply to all vehicles arriving from this month onwards. The PHEV will join the lineup during the first quarter of 2025.

There’s no change to pricing, although the Ultra is currently subject to a $4500 discount offer that ends on December 31, 2024.
From January 1 onwards, the Ultra will be priced at $46,490 drive-away, while the PHEV will start from $55,990 drive-away.
Full specifications for the PHEV are yet to be detailed, but we know that it features a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine producing 110kW and 230Nm, mated with two electric motors at the front plus another at the rear with 135kW and 232Nm.
Total system outputs are 342kW and 762Nm, while the 0-100km/h sprint takes a claimed 4.9 seconds. Claimed range is 180km on the NEDC cycle.
GWM Australia has sold 3140 examples of the H6 GT so far this year, representing 8.1 percent of the brand’s total sales volume.
The base H6 GT Ultra is currently subject to a $4500 discount as part of a deal that ends on December 31. From 2025 onwards, the Ultra will be priced at $46,490 drive-away.
