The GWM Cannon ute lineup has expanded in Australia, with two cab-chassis variants and a cut-price pickup coming to showrooms.
After renaming its Ute to Cannon and trading a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine for a stronger 2.4-litre, GWM has reintroduced the smaller-capacity powerplant for its two new ‘Premium’ entry-level grades.
The 2.0-litre engine is available in the Cannon Premium 4×2 single-cab/chassis from $35,490, and the 4×4 dual-cab pickup from $39,490 drive-away.
A second cab-chassis has been added in dual-cab Lux guise, retaining the 2.4-litre engine and arriving with a price of $42,490 drive-away – a $2500 premium compared to the last time the Ute was available as a dual-cab/chassis.

Prices across the rest of the GWM Cannon lineup have risen by $1000 since launch.
The reintroduction of the 2.0-litre engine also means the return of an eight-speed automatic transmission and 3200kg braked towing capacity, compared to the 2.4-litre’s nine-speed auto and 3500kg towing capability.
