2024 Toyota Corolla Cross price and specs

Toyota has cut back the Corolla Cross range to now only include hybrid variants as part of a wider range push for electrification.

This change means the entry price for the Corolla Cross range has jumped by $2860 to $36,480 before on-roads for the GX Hybrid 2WD.

A Toyota Australia spokesperson confirmed there haven’t been any specification changes to the remaining Corolla Cross Hybrid variants.

The Toyota Corolla Cross was first revealed in 2020 and joined the local lineup in late 2022. Like the name suggests it’s a higher-riding counterpart to the Corolla hatchback and sedan.

The Japanese-produced Corolla Cross slots in between the more style-focused, Turkish-sourced C-HR, and the larger and more popular RAV4.

In the first half of 2024 Toyota has sold a total of 5145 Corolla Cross examples. It’s far from the small SUV segment leader – the MG ZS family (ZS, ZST and ZS EV) – which over the same period saw 11,809 examples sold.

Pricing

Entry pricing for the Corolla Cross range has now risen by $2860 as the entry-level non-hybrid GX variant has been axed.

Powertrains

The entire Toyota Corolla Cross range is now hybrid-only. There’s a front-wheel drive option, as well as all-wheel drive on certain variants.

Efficiency

There are slight differences between the Corolla Cross Hybrid 2WD and AWD in terms of claimed fuel economy.

Dimensions

Under the skin the range rides on MacPherson strut front suspension. Front-wheel drive models feature a torsion-beam rear, while all-wheel drive models have a multi-link setup down back.

Like the wider Toyota range, the Corolla Cross has a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty.

The Toyota Corolla Cross received a five-star ANCAP safety rating based on testing conducted by Euro NCAP in 2022.
