Images of the forthcoming Tesla Model 3 update, codenamed Project Highland, have leaked online ahead of its expected reveal later today.
The new Tesla Model 3 has been officially revealed – our coverage for Australia is here.
These images were shared across social media, including Spanish leak publication Cochespias. According to Chinese reports, the refreshed Model 3‘s reveal is just hours away.
This isn’t the first time images of the refreshed Tesla Model 3 have leaked online, with a photo in April revealing the car’s front end styling.
At the front the headlights now appear to be slimmer and have a different LED daytime running light signature, along with the removal of the fog light unit.
The side profile appears to remain largely unchanged, however there are different wheel designs, including what appear to be refreshed aero covers.
Around the back the tail lights now have a C-shaped tail lights with body-colour elements, as well as Tesla script on the boot.
At this stage there isn’t any leaked imagery showing what the updated interior looks like, though previous reports have said it will be simplified.
It’s also unclear what changes there may be to the electric motor or battery setups.
Other leaked information and reports have indicated the updated Model 3 could receive an instrument cluster ahead of the driver, steer-by-wire technology, RGB ambient interior lighting, matrix LED headlights, an upgraded sound system, revised seats designed to reduce vibrations, heated and ventilated front seats, and a rear touchscreen.
Tesla has previously confirmed it will no longer use ultrasonic sensors, with its Tesla Vision system relying solely on footage supplied by cameras around the vehicle to supply data.
