Prices for the venerable Mitsubishi ASX are up for the 2024 model year by $500 across the range. Production of the updated models started in September.
Update, 09/10/2023 –Mitsubishi has provided updated MY24 ASX pricing which has increased up to $20. We have reflected this in the Servicing and Warranty section of this article.
The 2024 Mitsubishi ASX range now starts at $24,490 before on-roads for the GS manual and extends to $35,240 before on-roads for the Exceed.
As part of the updates, the Mitsubishi ASX ES and MR now come standard with lane departure warning as standard. This active safety feature issues an audible alert and shows a warning on the multifunction display if the vehicle drifts from its lane while the indicator isn’t activated.
Another addition to the MY24 ASX range is a new ES Street accessory pack that “brings a unique aesthetic” and has been “designed for the Australian market”. It costs an extra $2500 over the regular ES.
It receives the following on top of the regular ASX ES:
The Mitsubishi ASX ES Street accessory pack can only be had with White Diamond, Sterling Silver, and Black exterior paint.
The current-generation Mitsubishi ASX was first unveiled in 2010 and has now been guaranteed to mark 14 years on sale locally.
Mitsubishi is expected to make a decision about what will replace the ASX before the end of 2023. It’s currently weighing a version of the recently revealed Xforce upgraded to meet Australian standards, or a rebadged product from within the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance – likely a Renault Captur.
All prices are before on-road costs.
The 2024 Mitsubishi ASX uses a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine producing 110kW of power and 197Nm of torque, mated with either a five-speed manual (GS only) or continuously variable transmission (GS, ES, MR, LS).
The ASX GSR and Exceed use a naturally aspirated 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine with 123kW and 222Nm, mated with a continuously variable transmission.
The 2024 Mitsubishi ASX, when equipped with the 2.0-litre engine, uses 7.7 litres per 100km on the combined cycle in GS manual guise and 7.6 litre per 100km in all other variants.
ASX models with the 2.4-litre use 7.9 litres per 100km.
All models run on 91 RON regular unleaded fuel and have a 63-litre fuel tank.
The 2024 Mitsubishi ASX measures 4365mm long, 1640mm tall and 1810mm wide on a 2670mm wheelbase.
Total luggage space is 393litres, increasing to 1193litres (1143 litres in Exceed) with the rear seats folded.
The entire ASX range has a braked towing capacity of 1300kg, while unbraked towing capacity is 750kg.
The 2024 Mitsubishi ASX requires servicing every 12 months or 15,000km, whichever comes first.
Mitsubishi offers 10 years of capped-price servicing, as well as a 10-year or 200,000km warranty if you service your ASX with Mitsubishi. Servicing out of network reduces that to five years and 100,000km.
