The new-generation Mini Countryman is set to launch in Australia. The entry asking price has climbed to $49,990 before on-roads.
Mini Australia has detailed the initial versions of the new-generation Countryman SUV ahead of its local launch in the first quarter of 2024.
The 2024 Mini Countryman launch range will consist of the petrol-powered Countryman C and S. High-performance JCW, as well as the all-electric E and SE variants will follow in the third quarter of 2024.
Pricing now starts at $49,990 before on-roads for the Countryman C Core, which is $1140 more than the outgoing model, and currently extends to $63,990 before on-roads for the Countryman S JCW Sport.
The new-generation Mini Countryman is 13cm longer than the previous-generation model and 6cm taller. This is claimed to allow more “passenger comfort and versatility”.
There’s a new 9.4-inch OLED touchscreen infotainment system running Mini Operating System 9. It offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
From 2024 onwards Mini is no longer offering any leather products or chrome finishes in its vehicles. It’s offering a range of “sustainable” options for interior trims and exterior highlights instead.

The 2024 Mini Countryman C is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine producing 115kW of power and 230Nm of torque.
This is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with drive sent to the front wheels only.
Mini claims the Countryman C can do the 0-100km/h sprint in 9.0 seconds.
The Countryman S on the other hand is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing 150kW and 300Nm.
This is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with drive sent to the front wheels only.
Mini claims the Countryman S can do the 0-100km/h sprint in 7.4 seconds.
Mini Australia hasn’t detailed claimed fuel economy figures for the Countryman range at this stage.
The 2024 Mini Countryman measures in at 4433mm long, 1843mm wide, and 1656mm tall, with a 2692mm wheelbase.
With the second row of seats upright the Countryman has 505 litres of boot capacity, which can be expanded to 1530 litres with them folded.
The 2024 Mini Countryman is covered by a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty.
Mini Australia hasn’t detailed logbook servicing intervals or pricing at this stage.
The 2024 Mini Countryman hasn’t been crash tested by ANCAP or Euro NCAP at this stage. For now it is unrated.
