The Mercedes-AMG C 63 S Performance F1 Edition – a contender for the longest name of any new car on sale in Australia – has been priced ahead of local deliveries starting this month.
Timed with this weekend’s Australian Grand Prix, the C 63 S Performance F1 Edition will come to Australia in undisclosed but limited numbers, among the 63 examples to be produced worldwide – tying into both the nameplate and Mercedes-AMG Formula One driver George Russell’s racing number.
Priced from $202,800 before on-road costs, the F1 Edition is essentially a $14,900 appearance package on top of the existing C 63 S Performance, bringing different looks but no performance gains.
All F1 Edition examples are finished in Manufaktur Alpine Grey paint, which is teamed with black gradient AMG decals on the lower sections of the doors.
There are red trim highlights on the front and rear bumpers plus around the 20-inch forged wheels, which are 10-twin-spoke units painted in matte black.
AMG’s Night Packages add gloss black trim to the front splitter, front wings, mirrors and window surrounds, while there are also black chrome elements on the grille, rear apron and exhaust tips.
The cabin also adopts the black and red colour scheme, with black Nappa leather seats with red contrast stitching, brushed AMG headrest emblems and red seatbelts.
Red illuminated AMG door sill trims are also fitted, as is a Nappa leather and Dinamica microfibre upholstered steering wheel. F1 logos are found throughout the cabin.
Included in the purchase price is a customised AMG indoor car cover, featuring breathable outer panelling made of tear-resistant synthetic fibre fabric, and antistatic inner fabric made of flannel. Being the F1 Edition, it also features the sport’s logo.
Despite being named after the fastest circuit racing series in the world, there are no performance boosts for the F1 Edition sedan, which retains the turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder plug-in hybrid powertrain from the C 63 S.
Up to 500kW of power and 1020Nm of torque can be delivered to all four wheels, with 350kW and 545Nm coming from the turbocharged engine. It uses a nine-speed multi-clutch automatic transmission.
The Mercedes-AMG C 63 S Performance F1 Edition is now available to order.
