2024 Audi A3 price and specs

Audi Australia has increased the asking price of its A3 range, including the high-performance S3 and RS3, by up to $3831 for the 2024 model year.

The range now starts at $49,600 before on-roads for the A3 35 TFSI Sportback, and extends to $96,200 before on-roads for the RS3 Sedan.

As recently detailed, the A3 and S3 now receive a range of new features. These include adaptive cruise control with stop and go, Audi pre sense basic, active lane assist, as well as rear USB-C ports.

Audi has delivered a total of 2551 A3s to the end of October in 2023, making it the second-best selling premium small car in Australia. It is outsold by the related Volkswagen Golf (3001 sales), which now falls into the same bracket on the VFACTS sales charts.

Drivetrains

The Audi A3 35 TFSI variants are powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system producing total outputs of 110kW of power and 250Nm of torque.

Audi claims the A3 35 TFSI can do the 0-100km/h sprint in 8.4 seconds.

The A3 40 TFSI quattro is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing 140kW and 320Nm. Audi claims the A3 40 TFSI quattro can do the 0-100km/h sprint in 7.0 seconds.

The S3 is also powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine but produces 228kW and 400Nm. Audi claims the S3 can do the 0-100km/h sprint in 4.8 seconds.

The flagship RS3 is powered by a 2.5-litre turbocharged five-cylinder petrol engine producing 294kW and 500Nm. Audi claims the RS3 can do the 0-100km/h sprint in 3.8 seconds.

All Audi A3 variants have a seven-speed dual-clutch transmissions, with all but the entry-level A3 35 TFSI sending drive through an all-wheel drive system. The A3 35 TFSI only sends drive to the front wheels.

The 2024 Audi A3 range has the following claimed combined fuel economy figures:

• 35 TFSI Sportback: 5.0 litres per 100km
• 35 TFSI Sedan: 4.9 litres per 100km
• 40 TFSI Sportback: 6.7 litres per 100km

All A3 models require a minimum of 95 RON premium unleaded petrol, besides the flagship RS3 which requires a minimum of 98 RON premium unleaded petrol.

A3 35 TFSI variants have a 50-litre fuel tank, whereas the rest of the range has a 55-litre fuel tank.

Dimensions

The 2024 Audi A3 measures 4343mm long and 1449mm tall in Sportback guise, and 4495mm long and 1425mm tall in Sedan guise. Both body styles are 1816mm wide, or 1984mm wide including the mirrors, and have a 2636mm wheelbase.

The 2024 Audi S3 measures 4351mm long and 1438mm tall in Sportback guise, and 4504mm long and 1415mm tall in Sedan guise. Both body styles are 1816mm wide, or 1984mm wide including the mirrors, and have a 2630mm wheelbase.

The 2024 Audi RS3 measures 4389mm long and 1436mm tall in Sportback guise, and 4542mm long and 1412mm tall in Sedan guise. Both body styles are 1851mm wide and have a 2631mm wheelbase.

Logbook servicing is required every 12 months or 15,000km, whichever occurs first. Audi offers a five-year service plan which is priced as follows:

Safety

The Audi A3 has a five-star ANCAP safety rating based on Euro NCAP testing conducted in 2020, however this only applies to front-wheel drive variants.

It received an adult occupant protection score of 89 per cent, child occupant protection score of 81 per cent, vulnerable road user protection score of 68 per cent, and a safety assist score of 73 per cent.
