The Toyota GR Corolla will be offered in two variants, according to leaked documents published online.
Photos of what appears to be an official bulletin detailing specifications and colours have been shared on the Facebook group GR Corolla Owners Australia.
They detail a GTS variant and a two-seater Morizo Edition.
Toyota confirmed last year only 500 GR Corollas will come to Australia in 2023, spread across its national dealer network. The hot hatch was previously confirmed for a launch in the first quarter of 2023.
The company has also said it wants to ensure vehicles go into the hands of enthusiasts, not speculators.
The GR Corolla will go up against the likes of the Volkswagen Golf R, priced from $65,990 before on-road costs, and the Honda Civic Type R, starting from $72,600 drive away.
While pricing has yet to be confirmed, we expect a premium over the GR Yaris which starts at $54,500 before on-roads.
The GR Corolla will be built alongside its smaller GR showroom-mate in Toyota’s Motomachi Plant.
