Maserati has offered a first official look at its GranCabrio convertible, following in the footsteps of the GranTurismo coupe revealed earlier this year.
The GranCabrio shares its headlights and tail lights with the GranTurismo, but features a folding soft top to let more of the outside in. When it arrives, the GranCabrio will replace a car debuted all the way back in 2009.
No further details about the car have been revealed, although the GranTurismo can serve as a guide as to what we can expect.
Power in the petrol GranTurismo comes from a version of the Nettuno V6 debuted in the MC20 supercar, making 365kW of power and 600Nm of torque in the base Modena. It’s mated to an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive.
Jumping to the Trofeo ups power to 410kW and 650Nm, and cuts the 100km/h sprint time from 3.9 to 3.5 seconds.
We’re also anticipating an electric Folgore version of the GranCabrio, given we’ve now seen the GranTurismo EV with its tri-motor powertrain.
Maserati GranTurismo Folgore 
With 610kW on overboost and a whopping 1350Nm of torque, the Folgore will serve as a flagship for the range. The 100km/h sprint takes a claimed 2.7 seconds, and flat out you’ll be doing 320km/h.
Its T-bone shaped battery pack has 92.5kWh capacity (83kWh useable), and with its available 800V system can handle charging speeds of 270kW, said to add 100km range in five minutes.
While the Folgore of course has no exhaust or intake, a sound tuning function operated by synthesisers is pumped inside and out through speakers.
