The Ford Ranger and Everest are among the most in-demand new cars in Australia at the moment, and they have the wait times to prove it.
By now, the first examples of the Ranger have found their way to customers. The Everest will start rolling out alongside the Ranger Raptor on September 19, 2022.
The longest waits in the Everest range are for the Platinum and Sport, both of which feature V6 power.
The Ford Australia website says anyone who orders an Everest Platinum or Sport will be waiting until around May 2023 for their cars to touch down, at which point “pricing and/or specifications may be different”.
There is no wait for the Bi-Turbo four-cylinder models: the entry-level Ambiente and mid-range Trend.
Ford Australia boss Andrew Birkic told CarExpert once the early-adopters have snapped up the V6 at launch, fleets and customers trading in their older cars will drive more sales of the Bi-Turbo.
When it comes to the Ranger, the longest wait is the for the new Raptor. Ford says any orders placed now will touch down around June 2023, a month later than orders for the Ranger Wildtrak with the V6 engine and Premium Pack.
“We have also seen very strong demand for the optional Premium Pack on the Next-Gen Ranger Wildtrak, which will take some time to work through,” Ford says about the Wildtrak.
“If customers choose to remove the Premium Pack from their order, they will be able to take delivery of their Ranger sooner.”
The Premium Pack adds a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, matrix LED headlights, auxiliary switches and full LED tail lights.
The slightly lower-spec Ranger Sport V6 will be touching down in January 2023 if you order now. Ranger models with the Bi-Turbo engine are available now.
Regardless of model, the company recommends customers talk to their dealer, as there’s still some stock available depending on the dealer, location and specifications.
