The new Ford E-Transit electric van is priced from $104,990 before on-road costs, undercutting its Chinese LDV e-Deliver 9 rival by $10,000.

Ford has started rolling the E-Transit out at select dealers around Australia, and offers a choice between regular and high-roof options.

Range is up to 307 kilometres, which Ford says is more than enough to cover the average van operator’s daily route more than twice over.

Exactly how many are coming to Australia hasn’t been confirmed, but Ford says it has sufficient supply to meet demand at launch.

    Pricing

    • Ford E-Transit: $104,990
    • Ford E-Transit high roof: $106,490

    All prices exclude on-road costs.

    Powertrain

The single electric motor in the E-Transit produces 198kW of power and 430Nm of torque.

    Efficiency

The E-Transit uses a 68kWh battery, good for a driving range of up to 307km on the stricter WLTP test cycle in the case of the mid roof, and 295km in the high roof. It supports both AC charging and DC fast-charging.

The 11.3kW on-board charger can deliver a 100 per cent charge in up to 8.2 hours using AC power, while the E-Transit can be charged at up to 115kW using a DC fast-charger.

That means the battery can be taken from 15 to 80 per cent in around 34 minutes.

    Dimensions

    The Ford E-Transit measures 6035mm long, 2110mm wide, 2573mm or 2683mm tall, on a 3760mm wheelbase.
