For all the details about what you’ll get when the new big daddy of the Range Rover line-up arrives in Australia, read on.
Orders for the range of cars listed here open October 28, deliveries will start in June 2022.
Orders for the plug-in hybrid and the higher-end SV range open in January 2022, and deliveries will commence in the second half of 2022.
As you’d expect of a Range Rover, there’s plenty of choice on offer even before you start thinking about the options list.
Six trim levels will be offered at launch, each of which comes with a choice of diesel or petrol power.
Pricing kicks off at $220,200 before on-road costs for the Range Rover SE D300, and extends to $312,500 before on-roads for the Range Rover First Edition P530.
All prices exclude on-road costs.
Four engines will be offered in the 2022 Range Rover at launch in Australia. All of them except the P530 V8 are backed by 48V mild-hybrid technology designed to give you smoother start/stop and low-down performance.
All models have an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
Australia will also get the P510e plug-in hybrid in the second half of 2022, with 375kW of power and 700Nm of torque from the combination of a 3.0-litre inline-six petrol engine and an electric motor.
The 100km/h sprint takes a claimed 5.6 seconds, and electric range is up to 100km depending on model.
The SWB Range Rover measures up at 5052mm long, 2209mm wide, and 1870mm tall.
It rides on a 2997mm wheelbase, and offers 725L of boot space beneath the luggage cover, 818L with the cover removed, and 1841L with the second row folded flat.
Range Rover says the SWB models offered in Australia weigh in at between 2454kg and 2505kg – although the PHEV should be heavier again when it touches down.

It rides on a 3197mm wheelbase, and in five-seat models offers 725L of boot space beneath the luggage cover, 1050L with the cover removed, and 2165L with the second row folded flat.
The LWB seven seater has 229L of boot space behind the third row seatbacks or 312L to the roof, 713L beneath the luggage cover with the third row folded, 1061L with the cover removed, and 2601L with both rows of seating folded flat.
Braked towing capacity is 3500kg across the range, with a maximum 750kg unbraked capacity.
Like the wider line-up, the Range Rover will be backed by a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty in Australia.
Five years of servicing is currently included with the purchase of the outgoing Range Rover. Expect the same to be the case when the new one arrives.
