BMW is rolling out more Sport variants across its range.
Following the launch of the BMW 1, 2 and 3 Series Sport variants in February 2022, BMW has announced it’s expanding its Sport Collection to the X1 and X2 SUVs.
The models that are receiving the Sport treatment are the X1 sDrive18i and sDrive20i SUVs, as well as the entry-level X2 sDrive18i coupe SUV.
Pricing for these latest models joining the BMW Sport Collection starts at $55,990 drive-away for the X1 sDrive18i Sport, and extends to $67,990 drive-away for the X1 sDrive20i Sport.
For reference, the regular X1 sDrive18i costs $47,900 before on-road costs and the X1 sDrive20i costs $56,900 before on-road costs.
Taking on-road costs into account, these new Sport Collection models are more or less equal price-wise on the road in comparison to their regular counterparts.
All three of these SUV Sport models have “unique specification” with a “host of luxury and convenience features”.
An example of this unique specification is the X1 sDrive18i Sport has the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display with satellite navigation as standard.
Its regular counterpart has an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment display as standard and it can’t be optioned to get the larger screen.
This 10.25-inch touchscreen has previously been reserved for the mid-range sDrive20i and range-topping xDrive25i models.
BMW says that the X1 Sport models are due to arrive local in May 2022, whereas the X2 Sport will launch in the third quarter of 2022.
Limited to 100 units, the BMW X1 sDrive18i Sport is priced at $55,990 drive-away and includes the following on top of the regular X1 sDrive18i:
The X1 sDrive18i Sport is also only available in Black Sapphire and Mineral White metallic exterior paint.
It’s powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine producing 103kW of power and 220Nm of torque. This is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with drive sent to the front wheels only.
The BMW X2 sDrive18i Sport is priced at $59,990 drive-away and includes the following on top of the regular X2 sDrive18i:
The X2 sDrive18i Sport is only available in Black Sapphire metallic paint.
Just like the X1 sDrive18i Sport, the X2 sDrive18i Sport is also powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine producing 103kW and 220Nm. It’s mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with drive sent to the front wheels only.
The BMW X1 sDrive20i Sport is priced at $67,990 drive-away and includes the following on top of the regular X1 sDrive20i:
The X1 sDrive20i Sport can be painted in Black Sapphire, Mineral White, Mineral Grey and M Misano Blue metallic.
It’s powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing 141kW and 280Nm. This is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with drive sent to the front wheels only.
All prices are drive-away.
