BMW Australia has upped prices on all but the most expensive variants of the 3 Series sedan and wagon for 2022.
Prices are up by $1000 on the base 320i, while the 330i and 330e have had their prices increased by $2000. The M340i xDrive and xDrive Pure have unchanged prices.
UPDATE, 21/03/2022 – BMW Australia has revealed limited edition 320i Sport and 330e Sport variants, priced at $69,990 drive-away and $77,900 before on-roads, respectively.
Elsewhere in the range, there’s a number of standard features and option packages temporarily unavailable due to semiconductor and production restrictions.
“The bottleneck in the supply of semiconductor components has impacted availability of individual vehicle equipment options for certain models,” said a BMW Australia spokesperson.
“We are working closely with our dealer partners to provide alternative solutions for our customers to minimise waiting times. This process is supported by the high degree of customisation of our vehicles.”
The standard equipment list on the 3 Series hasn’t been adjusted for 2022, although BMW is still battling the global semiconductor shortage. At the original time of writing, wireless phone charging and adaptive cruise (330i) were removed from the standard equipment list due to the chip crunch.
Despite its struggles with semiconductors, BMW managed to keep the 3 Series at the top of the luxury mid-sized sedan charts with 3982 sales in 2021.
That was more than 1000 sales ahead of the second-placed Mercedes-Benz C-Class, which was in runout ahead of the new model’s arrival early this year.
