Mercedes-AMG has a (very) limited run entry model to the GT range, with more power and a blacked-out look. You'd best get saving, though.

There’s a new entry point to the Mercedes-AMG GT range… but don’t call it entry-level.
Mercedes-AMG has added a new ‘Night Edition’ to the GT range, priced from $294,200 before on-road costs.
It sits below the GT C Coupe in the range, and is priced in line with the Porsche 911 Carrera 4S or Carrera S Cabriolet.
New for 2021 is a more powerful take on Mercedes-AMG’s twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine. With 390kW, it’s up 40kW on the car on the previous entry-level model.
Just 15 will be offered in Australia, although the GT C and GT R models carry on.
All prices exclude on-road costs.
Power across the 2021 Mercedes-AMG GT range comes from a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine.
In the entry GT Night Edition, it outputs 390kW of power and 670Nm of torque.
Moving to the GT C ups power to 410kW and torque to 680Nm, while the range-topping GT R has 430kW and 700Nm.
All models are rear-wheel drive, and have a seven-speed automatic transmission.
The GT Night Edition hits 100km/h in 3.8 seconds, the GT C does the sprint in 3.7 seconds, and the GT R hits 100km/h in 3.6 seconds.
The Mercedes-AMG GT uses a claimed 11.5L/100km on the combined cycle, as does the GT C.
The AMG GT R drops that to 11.4L/100km on the combined cycle.
The Mercedes-AMG GT measures 4551mm long, 1996mm wide and 1261mm tall, with a 2630mm wheelbase.
The GT R is 1284mm tall, but otherwise identical dimensionally. Boot space is 175 litres.
The Mercedes-AMG GT is backed by a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty.
Maintenance is required every 12 months or 20,000km. A prepaid service package for three years will set you back $3750.
Four years is priced at $4300, and five years is $5400.
The Mercedes-AMG GT hasn’t been crash tested by ANCAP or Euro NCAP.
It has seven airbags, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, a surround-view camera, Pre-Safe, and blind-spot monitoring.
The Mercedes-AMG GT Night Edition features:
