Honda offers four different flavours of HR-V, with prices starting at $31,300 drive-away for the base VTi.
UPDATE, 30/06/21 – Honda has announced post-July 1 pricing for the 2021 HR-V as part of its new fixed-price Price Promise strategy.
The HR-V is another crossover pioneer, having debuted as a smaller cousin to the CR-V in 1999.
Although it has hidden rear door handles, the current model is far more conventional than the quirky first-generation car that offered a two-door option.
It’s a strong seller for Honda, having found 8181 homes in Australia last year.
The Honda HR-V was updated in April 2020, receiving wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Honda added new interior colour options to the RS and VTi-LX models in August 2020, while prices were increased by $710-910 across the board in 2021 ahead of the introduction of the Honda ‘Price Promise’.
Prior to July 1, 2021, the range opened at $26,900 before on-road costs, with the new base price now $31,300 drive-away.
A redesigned HR-V is due in Australia within the next 12 months and will offer the option of a hybrid powertrain.
All prices are drive-away.
Power in the 2021 Honda HR-V comes from a naturally-aspirated 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol engine making 105kW of power and 172Nm of torque, sent to the front wheels through a continuously-variable transmission (CVT).
All-wheel drive is not available, regardless of which model you select.
How much fuel the 2021 Honda HR-V uses depends on the model.
Although they share an engine, the VTi, VTi-S, RS, and VTi-LX all have different wheels and body add-ons.
With that in mind, Honda claims 6.6L/100km for the VTi, 6.9L/100km for the VTi-S, 6.7L/100km for the RS, and 6.9L/100km for the VTi-LX.
All models have a 50L fuel tank and run on 91RON regular unleaded fuel.
The 2021 Honda HR-V measures 4343mm long, 1772mm wide and 1605mm tall, with a 2610mm wheelbase.
Boot space is listed at 437L with the rear seats in place, and 1462L with them folded.
Maintenance is required every 12 months or 10,000km – whichever comes first.
From July 1, 2021, the first five services are capped at $125. That means the HR-V costs just $625 to service over the first five years, down from $1544 previously.
As with the rest of the Honda range, the HR-V is backed by a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty and comes with five years of roadside assist.
The Honda HR-V has a five-star ANCAP rating on the back of testing conducted in 2015.
An update in 2019 made low-speed autonomous emergency braking standard across the range. All models also feature front, front-side and curtain airbags.
Features like blind-spot monitoring and lane-departure warning are available on some variants.
Standard equipment in the VTi includes:
Moving to the VTi-S brings:
Stepping up to the RS adds:
The range-topping VTi-LX offers:
Premium paint is standard across the range.
The following colours are available across the HR-V range:
