First came the Bentley Continental GT Speed. Now, there’s a Convertible version.
Under the bonnet is a 6.0-litre twin-turbo W12 retuned to deliver 485kW and 900Nm – an increase of 18kW over the standard GT, as is the case in the coupe.
Driving all four wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, the GT Speed convertible dispatches the 0-100km/h standard in 3.7 seconds and hitting a top speed of 335km/h.
The fixed roof Continental GT Speed coupe is just 0.1 seconds quicker to the 100km/h mark.
The other dynamic upgrades found on the coupe have also been applied to the convertible, including the adoption of four-wheel steering and an electronic rear differential.
There are three driving modes on offer – Bentley, Comfort and Sport — with the latter routing more torque to the rear wheels.
As with regular Continental GT models, the Speed variants are fitted with Dynamic Ride, a 48V anti-roll control system.
The GT Speed rides on 22-inch forged alloy wheels, has unique sills, and features dark tint for the grille and Speed badges.
Carbon ceramic brakes are an optional extra.
The car’s highly customisable interior comes with a faux-suede steering wheel, metal-trimmed pedals, and neck warmers for the driver and front passenger.
The GT Speed convertible’s roof is available in seven exterior colours, including a tartan finish, and can be matched to eight interior liner colours.
The electronically-operated roof can be raised or lowered in 19 seconds, and operates at speeds up to 30km/h.
