Mercedes-Benz has recalled the 2020GLA due to a faulty ground connection on the front passenger airbag.
“The ground connection of the front passenger airbag may not meet the specifications,” Mercedes-Benz says in its recalls notice.
“This may mean that an electrostatic charge could not be diverted via the ground connection and may trigger the front passenger airbag.”
“The front passenger airbag may randomly inflate, increasing the risk of an accident and/or serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”
Owners of the affected vehicles are requested to contact their local Mercedes-Benz dealer in order to organise a free fix.
