Kia Australia has issued a recall for the MY20 Stinger liftback over concerns a manufacturing fault could block the fuel nozzle.
“A plastic burr may remain after the moulding process of the fuel pump’s jet nozzle housing, potentially blocking the nozzle,” Kia says in its recall notice.
“A blocked nozzle can result in insufficient supply of fuel to the engine. An insufficient supply of fuel to the engine can result in the vehicle losing power or stalling. This can result in serious injury or death of vehicle occupants and other road users.”
Owners of the affected Stinger units will be contacted by Kia Australia via mail, and advised to contact their local dealer to arrange the inspection and repair of their vehicle, free of charge.
