2018-20 Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 recalled
The Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 has been recalled to fix a fault that could cause a fire.

Mercedes-Benz Australia has recalled the 2018-2020 AMG GLC 63 to fix a problem with the wiring on the starter motor.
“A short circuit impacting the vehicle’s electronic system may occur if the positive wiring to the starter motor becomes chafed. This wiring may become chafed as a result of regular vehicle use,” the company says in its recall notice.
“Depending on the type of short circuit, there may be a risk of fire, and/or the engine may not be able to be restarted once it has been shut down.
“This increases the risk of an accident, which may cause injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”
- A total of 1413 cars are included in the recall
- Affected vehicles were sold between March 4, 2018 and March 28, 2020

Mercedes-Benz Australia will contact owners of the affected cars and advise them to organise a free fix with their nearest dealer.
