Mercedes-Benz Australia has recalled the 2017-21 Sprinter Van to fix a problem with the hydraulic power steering system.

“Hoses within the hydraulic power steering system may detach,” Mercedes-Benz said in its recall notice.

“Should the hose on the hydraulic power steering become detached, this may lead to power steering fluid leaking and a loss of the steering assist.

“This would increase the risk of injury or death to the vehicle occupants and other road users.”

    • A total of 2286 vehicles are included in the recall campaign
    • A VIN list of affected vehicles is attached here
    • The original recall notice is attached here

Mercedes-Benz will contact owners of the affected vehicles and advise them to organise a free fix as soon as possible.
