More than 20,000 2017-19 Ford Ranger utes and 2018-19 Everest seven-seaters have been recalled to fix a problem with the transmission fluid pump.
According to Ford, the transmission fluid pump gear could fail while driving. If the problem occurs, the Ranger and Everest could suffer a loss of hydraulic fluid pressure in the transmission, which can make the car lose power.
If the car loses power while driving, there’s a risk of injury to the occupants and other road users.
Ford will contact owners of the affected vehicles and advise them to organise a free fix for the problem.
