A faulty tow bar kit has forced Stellantis to recall the 2017-18 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

“The WK Jeep Grand Cherokee tow bar kit has bolts and washers that may lose torque during towing,” the recall notice says.

“If the bolts and washers on the tow bar lose torque during towing, the tow bar may become loose and/or detach from the vehicle, potentially posing a risk of serious accident to the vehicle occupants or other road users that can lead to severe injury or death.”

    • A total of 2349 vehicles are included in the recall
    • A VIN list of affected vehicles is attached here
    • The original recall notice is attached here

Jeep will get in touch with owners of the affected vehicles and advise them to organise a free fix with their nearest dealer.
