Mercedes-Benz Australia has recalled the 2014-18 Sprinter van to fix a problem with the stability control.
“Certain vans with camper body/conversion may experience an electrical fault with the rear axle rotational speed sensor,” the recall notice says.
“This fault may result in some of the functions of the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) deactivating. If the ESP control unit functions are deactivated, the driving stability of your vehicle may be impacted.
“The deactivation of these ESP functions, may increase the risk of an accident resulting in an injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”
Owners of the affected vehicles will be contacted by Mercedes-Benz and advised to organise a free fix with their nearest dealer.
