    2014-17 Peugeot 208, 2008, 308 recalled

Peugeot's three smallest cars, the 208, 2008, and 308, have been recalled to fix a problem with the braking system.

Inchcape Australia has recalled the 2014-17 Peugeot 208, 2008, and 308 to fix a problem with the braking system.

“The braking system’s power assistance may be lost or reduced,” it says in its recall notice.

“This is due to a reduction of available vacuum in the system due to degradation of the timing belt if affected by aged engine oil.

“While the brakes will still be operable, if power assistance is reduced or lost, there is an increased risk of a collision, which could result in injury or death of vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”

    • A total of 2810 cars are included in the recall
    • Affected cars were sold between 1 September, 2014, and 30 June, 2017
    • A VIN list of affected vehicles is attached here
    • The original recall notice is attached here

Owners will be contacted by Peugeot Australia and advised to organise a free fix with their nearest dealer.
