ACT Policing is currently seeking witnesses and dash-cam footage from witnesses of a hit-and-run in Canberra’s north earlier this month.

The collision occurred on June 3, 2024 at about 11:35AM at the roundabout intersection of Belconnen Way and Kingsford Smith Drive in Higgins.

The driver of a Toyota HiLux failed to give way at the roundabout and collided with a Kia Sportage, causing the latter to be spun around 360 degrees.

After the crash, the driver of the black HiLux continued through the roundabout and left the scene without exchanging details with the Sportage’s driver.

Dash-cam footage of the collision from the Sportage’s point of view has been provided to ACT Policing and published online to find anyone with more information about the crash.

ACT Policing says it would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have dash-cam footage that captures the registration of the black HiLux.

Anyone with information which could assist police is being urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or through the Crime Stoppers ACT website.

The reference number 7765077 needs to be quoted and information can be provided anonymously.
