The used-car buying process can be stressful, but it never warrants behaviour like this.

KTLA reports a man has been arrested after allegedly intentionally crashing into a CarMax dealership in Inglewood, California on Saturday afternoon, leaving eight people injured – two of whom were briefly in critical condition.

The alleged perpetrator was reportedly having his Subaru Outback appraised. The Los Angeles Police Department hasn’t shared his name.

A video uploaded to Instagram by Miguel Hernandez-Nieblas shows the driver reversing the Outback through a doorway, before turning inside and driving out another doorway, leaving wrecked furniture in his wake.

NBC News reports the act was part of a “business dispute”, and that shortly after crashing through the dealership the perpetrator drove to a nearby police academy and turned himself in.

He now faces multiple charges, including assault with a deadly weapon.

“This afternoon, a customer drove through our Inglewood, California store, hitting and injuring several employees and customers who are receiving medical care at this time,” said CarMax in a statement on Saturday.

“This individual was a customer and was arrested by the police. We appreciate the authorities’ response to this terrible event.

“The safety of our employees, community and customers is our top priority. We’re deeply saddened by this event and our hearts go out to everyone impacted.”

The incident comes shortly after Michael Lee Murray was charged with multiple offences after ramming his Subaru Outback through the front of Tim Dahle Mazda in Sandy, Utah in December.

Fortunately for employees at that dealership, nobody was injured.

Police alleged Mr Murray had crashed his car through the front doors after being denied a refund for the vehicle.

He subsequently turned himself into officers.
